Here's a scene depicting Link braving the Savage Labyrinth, from Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
The Savage Labyrinth is around the end of the game, and it's a huge leveled dungeon in itself, where Link has to fight tonnes of enemies, then drop down a hole to the next level. It's a lot of fun, but a bit difficult if you're not prepared.

Link's getting ready to fight some Chuchus. They're hilarious. I chose to draw them because they're easy to draw, and this was a bit of a challenge for me, drawing an actual scene, and not a portrait.

I'm a bit happy with it, but there's a lot of things I'm not happy with, like the accuracy of the dungeon layout... I know I forgot to add flames around the hole, I just remembered now and don't have a reference :(

I used a paper texture to try and get the Wind Waker papery texture feel. I'm not sure how to actually do that, but I tried. The shadows were a bit of a pain, wondering where the light casts and stuff. But I tried, this is my first try at a scene with stuff going on.

Anyway... I hope you like it, thanks for looking. :)

Oooh this is cool

And you did fine with the paper texture

All you do is place the paper texture on the top layer, and set it to "Multiply" mode. Edit opacity and bam, you're done :#1:

Thank you :D
and :O that's a great idea - I did it a similar way, except I saved the end product as a jpeg, added a new layer, resized the paper texture to fit the picture, then fiddled around with the brightness/contrast of the painting and moved the opacity on the texture - but your way is much simpler =p In fact I'm gonna change it right now, thanks heaps for the tip

No problem babe

Can MAKE your own paper textures though to be honest. Which is what I did. I was really rushed though so I just took photos of some crumply paper with a digi cam, instead of using Keith's film camera. So the actual texture isn't really high quality. But eh, can't really see it all too well anyways.

Did you get your texture from CG Textures?

I would have made my own but I don't have any of that type of paper, it's like got a recycled bumpy texture to it, like someone homemade it. Yep, got it from CG textures, that's a cool site :)
I like how your paper texture came out, it's almost like you're a crackly porcelein doll ^___^

Yay! pretty! have you played through the entire Cave of Ordeals on TP without using more than one potion? You can actually get up to four bottles of Fairy Tears by doing that XD It's almost impossible if you don't know how to preserve your arrows while also using them as much as possible from the above ledge. It's fun. Try it!
