Well, it's finally time for me to show you what I've been working on in the last week.
It's 1am, and I just finished this piece...and I had to find the kanji for Gunnm, I found it on
[link]. Check that site out, it's fucking good!
Anyway. I decided this needed a background, so I tried out a dirty landscape of the Scrapyard, where Alita does most of her battling. I have never done a background with this kind of detail before, so I'm new to this. I think it looks good enough, what do you think?
I hope you like it.
PS: The katakana at the bottom left is my name. ^______^
*runs from mob with pitchforks crying out for blood for that comment*
I still think her body could do with some more adjustments, in my art, I mean. I didn't really know much about stance, etc, so she looks like she's hovering there, lol. but yes, her proprotions are very petite, which is why i love her - she ain't a huge tough bitch. lol
I think the pose is actually from the 8th book, when the GR-2 throws her cloak fully off, ne? ^_^ Very beautiful...though if my sources are correct- her Tuned armor is actually a dull green color o_o;
The background is shiny cool...I can't do stuff like that ;_;
Grat composition and use of color.
I saw the movie once. I was so bummed when I found out the Movie; Battle Angel is out of print in DVD format here in the States. I hope they will reissue it soon.
It one of the few real anime classics out there.
peace.
